What Do Critics Say About the 2019 Volkswagen Passat?

The 2019 year model of Passat is a crossover SUV from Volkswagen that is focused to make large families happy by providing them enough room within its rugged frame. But its ruggedness does not seep inside its luxurious cabin. On the contrary, it delivers an unexpectedly smooth ride, because of which its popularity keeps it ahead of many of its rivals.

Visit any of the Seaside VW dealerships, and you will find the 2019 Passat queuing up there with all its virtues, that even its worst critics can’t deny.

    Lineup of 2019

For 2019, Volkswagen has shrunk the Passat in only two trim models, one being the Wolfsburg and the other, SE R-Line.Both themodels have been powered by a 2.0-liter turbo-4 rated engine that is expert in raising the horsepower at 174 hp with front wheel drive configuration. The V-6 engine and the sporty GT trim level seen last year are discontinued.

    Inside Comfort and Convenience

The interior cabin of the 2019 VW Passat  wears a clean and cohesive look. While the infotainment system goes big with crisp displays, its compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto now comes as standard. The best part of the Passat that discriminates it from the rest of the vehicles in the segment is the outward vision that stands best in the segment of mid-size sedan.

The cabin seats are covered with synthetic leather upholstery and are firmly supportive through the long hours of journeys. Thanks to the multiple number of adjustments. What comes next in the note of appreciation is the space that every Passat offers you. The 39.1 inches of legroom and a trunk space of 15.9 cubic feet rates it above the average in its class.

    Engine Performance and Ride Comfort

The turbo-4 engine of the 2019 VW Passat is brought to teach the vehicle some good road manners. The 4-cylinder acts as a smooth criminal when paired to the standard 6-speed automatic transmission creating 174 of horsepower and  184 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain does the job well of shuttling all the power to the front wheels and shows its magic while emerging from two-lane roads and merging onto the highway.

Driving with this engine overall felt smooth and responsive, though the critics might say, it isn’t that thrilling. The handling too is worth appreciation, but again could be labelled by the critics as less entertaining. But when you equip the 2019 Passat with the 17-inch alloy wheels, the rides don’t leave any scope even for the critics to grumble. If that is with the standard 17 inch, one can imagine what the optional 18 inches can do.

The one who sits behind the wheels of the 2019 Passat gets a sporty three-spoke steering wheel to establish the best possible control on this corner carver. A ride with the 2019 VW Passat that we had at the VW dealership near Seaside made us sure of one thing, that driving with this vehicle will make even the meekest driver feel composed and confident, while the supportive suspension absorbs all the road imperfections to maintain the same calmness for the passengers inside the cabin allowing them to continue with their luxurious ride.
