Top Motivators for Trading in Your Existing Motorbike

Before purchasing the next motorcycle, we advise that you sell the one you now own. The benefits of selling first will typically outweigh the drawbacks. This is true for both brand-new and “new to you” motorcycle purchases.

Setting priorities

To avoid rushing things, one reason to sell your present motorcycle first is to do so. Some of us have our sights set on the next motorcycle as soon as we purchase the current one. Purchasing a new vehicle is a thrilling endeavor. Just be careful not to chase the “buyer’s high.”

It is possible that you are making a hasty decision if you decide that having two bikes at once is not something you desire or would benefit from. You might find it more advantageous financially to sell your present bike first.

Do you still owe money on your motorcycle?

You should sell motorcycle (ขาย มอเตอร์ไซค์, this is the term in Thai) first if you only intend to finance one motorcycle at a time. There is no justification for adding to your financial burden if having two bikes at once would not be advantageous.

Is your motorcycle subject to any liens?

It is essential to get the lien off your present motorcycle before making another sizable purchase if it has one. Your motorcycle may be subject to repossession if your lender placed a lien on it because of late payments. Naturally, paying off the lien comes before getting a new vehicle.

If you owe money on your motorcycle, your credit rating has suffered. It is therefore doubtful that your present lender will extend you another loan for a motorcycle. It is also doubtful that a fresh lender would provide you money.

Do you frequently ride your motorcycle?

Our feelings frequently keep us from giving things up. Many memories are connected to your motorcycle. So, it makes sense that you would feel depressed if you considered selling it. But consider how frequently you ride your motorcycle. Even when a bike is stored, regular maintenance is still required.

To prevent deterioration

Avoiding additional depreciation of the current motorcycle is one important reason to sell it before purchasing a new one. The moment a motorcycle is bought and removed from the lot, its value decreases. Depreciation also continues unabated. As a result, your motorcycle’s worth will continue to decline annually. If you are ready financially to purchase your new motorcycle, do it now. Your motorcycle will be worth more the sooner you sell it.

To make a better-informed buying choice

You have a better idea of what you like and do not like after purchasing your first motorcycle. You are also brought back to mind the qualities you admired, hoped you had, and could live without. Knowing your preferences will help you choose a product with greater knowledge.

To purchase a new motorbike with the proceeds of the sale

You can use the proceeds from the sale of your present motorcycle to purchase your new one later. You might decide to get motorcycle financing. If so, you might want to think about putting down money. When you pay a percentage of the purchase price up front, you are making a down payment.
